lthough everybody knows about heart disease and cancer as leading
causes of death and disability in this country, most people are
unaware of vascular disease. This is even though 20-30 million
people are at risk for various vascular diseases including stroke,
aortic aneurysms, and peripheral artery disease. These cause more
deaths than any cancer . Stroke is the third leading cause of
death in the United States and the most common diagnosis of people
entering nursing homes. At South Bay Vascular Center we are
dedicated to screening, evaluating, and treating those affected
with arterial and venous problems. We are devoted to making the
experience as informative, comprehensive , and painless as
possible. We are interested not only in helping those who already
have a vascular problem, but those who are concerned about having
one because of family history or risk factors. We will work with
you and your primary doctor to help control these risk factors and
to improve all aspects of cardiovascular health.
An even larger number of people, about 50 million, are afflicted by
varicose veins or venous insufficiency. We have a special interest
in venous issues- whether they are small spider veins that prevent
someone from going to summer pool parties for cosmetic reasons or
severe problems with nonhealing wounds from blood clots. Varicose
veins and leg pain are never just “signs of aging”. We are careful
to listen to your concerns and complaints about these and address
them in a competent and caring manner. We always feel honored that
you have chosen us to help you.
